Children’s Privacy Policy

Somni (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is committed to protecting the privacy of children and minors. This Children’s Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when minors use the App.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Age Requirement
Somni is not intended for children under the age of 18, unless permitted by applicable local laws and used with verifiable parental or legal guardian consent.
If you are under the age of 18, please do not use the App without the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Information Collected from Minors
Somni does not require account registration and does not actively collect personal information from users, including minors.
If a minor uses the App, the only information that may be involved is:
- User-generated content voluntarily created within the App (e.g., dream entries, notes, emotions, tags)
This content:
- Is stored locally on the device by default
- May be stored in the user’s private iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled
- Is not accessible to us
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, including:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Location data
- Online identifiers
- Advertising identifiers
3. Use of Information
Any content created by a minor is used solely for:
- Displaying and organizing entries within the App
- Optional synchronization across the user’s own devices via iCloud
We do not:
- Analyze or interpret user content
- Use data for advertising or profiling
- Track user behavior across apps or websites
4. Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored locally on the device by default
- If iCloud sync is enabled, data is stored in the user’s private iCloud container and governed by Apple’s iCloud policies
- We do not operate independent servers to store user content
We rely on iOS system-level security features, such as device encryption and secure storage, to help protect user data.
5. No Social or Public Interaction (Current Version)
At present, Somni:
- Does not include public profiles
- Does not include social interaction features
- Does not allow communication between users
- Does not display user-generated content publicly
All content remains private to the user unless explicitly exported or shared by the user.
6. Parental Rights and Control
Parents or legal guardians have the right to:
- Review the content stored locally on the device
- Delete dream entries directly within the App
- Remove the App from the device, which deletes locally stored data
If iCloud sync is enabled, data management is subject to the parent’s iCloud account settings.
7. Compliance with Children’s Privacy Laws
Somni is designed to comply with applicable children’s privacy regulations, including but not limited to:
- The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) (United States)
- Relevant data protection laws in other jurisdictions
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Children’s Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
